Problem Description:

Base on research, the author found that since Wenzhou’s reform and opening up and the migrant workers’ entrance into the city, a large number of kids have studied in schools for migrant workers’ children. But these schools have the problems of poor teaching conditions, weak faculty strength and lack of knowledge of students health. For the Menstrual Health Knowledge, the 54 six grade female students of Shuangyu Primary School are facing the same challenge of lack of knowledge and awareness of Menstrual Health. This deficiency will impose certain effect on these female students’ reproduction health.

Solution:

1. The research group carried out two health lectures for the 54 female students in Shuangyu Primary School. (Respective namely “the physiology and health of Menstrual period” and “the proper response to handle various special situations during the menstrual period”.

2. Answered the questions concerning menstrual health by the students.

3. Showed the students with the instruction film “Body Code- menstruation”.

Provided the students with the learning materials to promote their knowledge and awareness of menstrual health.

Achievement:

1.The students’ knowledge on menstrual health has been improved: based onthe three aspects of menstrual physiology, diet and health care, proper response to handle various special situations. The students’ knowledge pass rate before intervention was only 9.26%. After our intervention the

knowledge pass rate has reached 96.22%.Except 1 index, the other 20 index have shown significant difference before and after the intervention (P<0.005).

2. The students’ awareness of menstrual health has been significantly raised: the indifference rate towards menstrual health before intervention was 59.25% and it has been reduced to only 9.26% after intervention with significant difference.(P<0.005).

This project is definitely of importance in promoting the reproductive health in a vulnerable population. it is amazing that this project is so cost-effective. Based on the result, we can see the project can significantly improve the knowledge of adolescent girls, but we don't know if it can also lead girls to put it in to act. the future study should examine project's effect on behavior change of adolescent girls.

In sum, it is wonderful project. what i need to add is that this project is not only prove to be effective, but also provide us the future research direction. great job!

It's a very good subject for the girls to learn~
